MOSCOW, October 14. /TASS/. Agreements to establish Russian bases in Syria may be signed by the end of the year, said Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Borisenko.
"In August, an interim memorandum was signed on the transformation of Russian military facilities into joint Russian-Syrian training and logistics centers. And now, concrete intergovernmental agreements on these facilities are being prepared, which will finally formalize their future status," he said in an interview with RTVI. "I hope this will happen by the end of this year."
He said that these will be "training and logistics centers, that is, they will partially be shared, including used for training Syrian military personnel."
