MOSCOW, October 12. /TASS/. Russian forces kept improving their forward positions in all the frontline areas over the past week in their consistent efforts to liberate the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), DPR Head Denis Pushilin told the Vesti news program.

"Over the past week, our forces kept improving their positions actually along the entire engagement line, striking enemy manpower and equipment. <…> Consistent efforts are underway to liberate the Donetsk People’s Republic," the DPR head stressed.

Russian forces are enveloping the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration, the Ukrainian army’s last major defensive area in the Donetsk region, from several directions, which helps them develop their offensive in that direction, Pushilin said.

"As for the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration, the advance in that direction continues. The envelopment of communities that proceeds from several directions, undoubtedly, also plays a decisive role," he said.
