MOSCOW, October 7. /TASS/. Russia is on guard amid Europe’s aggressive rhetoric and is closely monitoring the situation, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing.

Earlier, France test-fired a new nuclear-capable missile, with President Emmanuel Macron describing it as "a loud and clear message." Commeeting on the remark, Peskov noted that the EU had become "obsessed with its militarization."

"Of course, given such aggressive actions and such plans, Russia is on guard, as our minister has said, and we are closely monitoring developments," the Russian presidential spokesman pointed out.
