The Russian president has public events scheduled, though details were not disclosed

MOSCOW, October 7. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin is celebrating his 74th birthday today, preferring to spend it with family, while continuing official duties, including international phone calls and preparations for a CIS summit in Turkmenistan.

Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said the most important thing for Putin is congratulations from relatives. The president has public events scheduled, though details were not disclosed.

Putin usually marks the occasion in Russia. He has spent it abroad only twice, in Chisinau in 2002 and Bali in 2013. Foreign leaders often send symbolic gifts. In 2008, he received an Amur tiger cub. In 2017, Silvio Berlusconi gave him an embroidered duvet cover. In 2022, Alexander Lukashenko presented a tractor certificate, and Emomali Rahmon brought watermelons later donated to children's homes.
