MOSCOW, October 5. /TASS/. People such as German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and the country’s intelligence chief Martin Jaeger are trying to drag Germany into confrontation with Russia, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told TASS.

The diplomat drew attention to Jaeger’s statement that he allegedly sees a danger of violent confrontation between Germany and Russia.

"People like Jaeger, under Merz’s command, are trying to drag Germans into another round of confrontation with Russia," the diplomat said.
