The Russian leader stressed that Eurasia is capable of becoming a prototype for international interaction amidst a diversity of cultures, approaches, and interests

MOSCOW, October 1. /TASS/. Russia and Belarus have put forward an initiative to draft a Eurasian Charter of Multipolarity and Diversity in the 21st Century, and practical work on the document has already begun, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced at the plenary session of the 23rd annual meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club.

"Eurasia is capable of becoming a prototype for international interaction amidst a diversity of cultures, approaches, and interests - where distinguishing features become not an obstacle, but an asset in building a sustainable, balanced partnership. In this regard, I would like to highlight the initiative we launched together with our Belarusian friends to draft a Eurasian Charter of Multipolarity and Diversity in the 21st Century," the Russian leader said.

Putin noted that practical work on the document was initiated last week during a meeting of the foreign ministers of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and other partners on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

"The value of Eurasia lies primarily in the fact that it is largely self-sufficient and capable of resolving any problems. The only things this vast community of nations needs are indivisible security, an absence of military threats, and lasting peace," Putin emphasized.
