MOSCOW, September 30. /TASS/. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s remarks about Russian leader Vladimir Putin, European statements on plans to blockade the Kaliningrad Region and contacts with the United States on prisoner exchanges topped the agenda of Wednesday’s briefing by Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

President’s schedule

- Putin will address the first meeting of the 9th State Duma today.

- He will also hold a meeting with re-elected regional heads via videoconference.

- Putin’s schedule also includes several working meetings that will be held behind closed doors.

Tokayev’s remarks

- Russia appreciated the high praise Tokayev gave Putin at a press conference in Germany: "We greatly value this and are grateful to the president of Kazakhstan for his assessment of President Putin."

- Russia and Kazakhstan enjoy a strategic partnership that Moscow appreciates: "We value our relations with Kazakhstan. This is a forward-looking strategic partnership covering a very wide range of areas."

- Putin and Tokayev enjoy a close and trusting personal relationship, helping them discuss the most difficult issues constructively: "The personal relationship between the two presidents is close, constructive and based on trust, which allows them to discuss the most difficult issues on the international agenda, including matters related to the Ukrainian settlement."

- Putin provides Tokayev with the latest information on the situation in the special military operation: "President Putin uses every meeting to convey the latest information on the progress of the special military operation to his Kazakh counterpart."

Western statements on Kaliningrad

- Russia has taken note of statements from European capitals about plans to blockade the Kaliningrad Region and considers them reckless: "We have repeatedly heard statements from Poland and other European countries - quite reckless statements - that also touched on Kaliningrad."

- Russian diplomats are reminding "hotheads" in Europe that Russia’s policy documents provide for a nuclear response to any attempt to blockade the Kaliningrad Region: "It is only natural that our diplomats are trying to remind the hotheads in Europe of our fundamental documents on the matter."

Contacts with US

- Moscow did not discuss easing US sanctions with Washington in exchange for the release of several prisoners.

- The issue of political prisoners "could not have been discussed" in such terms: "Because we categorically deny the existence of any political prisoners and believe that framing the issue this way is absolutely inappropriate."

- Russian and US security services maintain regular contact on prisoner exchanges: "As for the various exchanges that have taken place before, our security services continue to maintain regular contact on the matter."

Relocation of S-400 systems from Turkey

- The possible relocation of Russian S-400 systems from Turkey to a friendly country is on the agenda, and relevant work is underway.
