GENEVA, September 23. /TASS/. Moscow reserves the right to take commensurate and proportionate action in exercise of its right to self-defense in response to NATO and EU countries using their military facilities in Ukraine to strike Russian territory, Head of the Russian Delegation to the Vienna Negotiations on Military Security and Arms Control Yulia Zhdanova said.

According to her, any military facilities of NATO and EU nations in Ukraine that are used to strike Russian territory are legitimate military targets for the country. "Russia reserves the right to take commensurate and proportionate action in exercise of its right to self-defense," the diplomat stressed at a meeting of the OSCE Forum for Security Cooperation in Vienna.

Zhdanova also said that "responsibility for any further adverse developments in the situation" would lie with the countries concerned.
