MOSCOW, September 22. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has more than 30 bilateral meetings scheduled on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Department of International Organizations Kirill Logvinov said in an interview with TASS.

"Sergey Lavrov has a series of bilateral contacts already planned for today, mostly with representatives of friendly countries, as well as other important global players," Logvinov stated ahead of the Russian delegation’s visit to the UN General Assembly.

"Arrangements are being made for negotiations with colleagues from Algeria, Brazil, Brunei, Venezuela, Guyana, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, India, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Cuba, Kuwait, Lebanon, Mali, Maldives, Morocco, Mexico, Nicaragua, the United Arab Emirates, Panama, Senegal, Serbia, Syria, Sudan, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, representatives of the Pacific Ocean microstates, the Arab League and the Alliance of Sahel States," he continued.

"The list [of bilateral meetings] also includes the leadership of the OSCE [the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe], the IAEA [the International Atomic Energy Agency] and the UN General Assembly President Khalilur Rahman," the diplomat added.

The headquarters of the global organization in New York City will host the General Debate of the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) with the participation of heads of state and government, as well as foreign ministers, on September 22-26 and September 28. The Russian delegation will be led by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
