Globalists will replace German Chancellor Friedrich Merz following his party's poor performance in state elections rather than changing their political course, Kirill Dmitriev, the Russian President's Special Representative for Investment and Economic Cooperation with Foreign Countries and CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), said on Tuesday.

"The 'total wipeout' Chancellor gets a record of 0 seats in a regional election. Globalists will replace him instead of changing his failing course of destroying Western civilization," Dmitriev wrote on his X social media account.

On September 20, Germany held elections for the Landtag (state parliament) of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and the Berlin House of Representatives. In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party won 38.2% of the vote, according to preliminary official data. The Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) came in second with 35.5%. Meanwhile, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) posted its worst-ever result in German state elections, securing just 4.9%.
