MOSCOW, September 21. /TASS/. The Russian Central Election Commission (CEC) will announce preliminary results of last weekend’s elections to the State Duma at 11:00 a.m. Moscow time (8:00 a.m. GMT) on Monday.

The single voting day to elect lawmakers to the 9th Russian State Duma took place on September 18-20, with 10 parties running. With 52.27% of ballots processed, the ruling United Russia party is leading with 57.84% of the vote, followed by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) with 13.74% and the Liberal Democratic Party of the Russian Federation (LDPR) with 8.73%. New People and A Just Russia - Patriots - For Truth took 7.88% and 5.13%, respectively,

Russia’s election chief, Ella Pamfilova, said the parliamentary election had a record voter turnout of 56.66% this year, citing preliminary information.

More than 3.6 million people voted online, with online voter turnout standing at 90.87%, the Russian Digital Development Ministry said.

The vote was held amid provocations, as well as cyber and drone attacks and was the most challenging ever during her tenure as CEC chair, Pamfilova acknowledged, with several election commission members killed or injured in drone attacks.

The final results of the election will be announced no earlier than September 25, when all ballots are thoroughly counted and other procedures, required by law, are carried out.
