New US sanctions against Russia hardly coherent with sentiments at negotiations — Lavrov

The Russian foreign minister pointed out that Washington still continue extending all sanctions imposed by then-President of the US Joe Biden and the Biden Congress

MOSCOW, September 8. /TASS/. The US administration is extending existing anti-Russian sanctions and adopting new ones, which is hardly coherent with sentiments conveyed by the American delegation at the negotiations, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

"Congress, the administration, the Department of the Treasury, and other relevant US agencies are unconditionally extending and continue extending all sanctions imposed by then-President of the US Joe Biden and the Biden Congress. All of this is hardly coherent with the sentiments conveyed during negotiations. But that is life, and, as always, life is multifaceted," he said on TV Channel One.
