Garry Minkh ecalled that the 2020 amendments were aimed at protecting Russian national interests and strengthening sovereignty
MOSCOW, August 21. /TASS/. The Russian Constitution does not need amendments at this time, Russian president’s plenipotentiary representative in the State Duma (parliament) Garry Minkh told TASS in an interview.
He recalled that the 2020 amendments were aimed at protecting national interests and strengthening sovereignty. According to the envoy, it is necessary to continue "absorbing and mastering" the Constitution’s new provisions in these areas and implementing them in practice by amending federal laws and other acts.
"I would put it this way: it is a shirt to grow into, and it still has plenty of room. So we have room to move forward. Therefore, I do not see any objective need to amend the Constitution at this point," Minkh said.
