Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko stressed that Tokyo's diplomatic activity would lead to nothing
ARKHANGELSK, August 13. /TASS/. If Tokyo thinks that Russia is going to cede land that belongs to it, it's sorely mistaken, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko told journalists, commenting on Tokyo's summoning of the Russian ambassador to Japan.
"This diplomatic activity will lead to nothing. Russian land will remain Russian land in full accordance with international law," the deputy minister said on the sidelines of the fourth annual forum "Arctic - Regions."
Earlier, as the Kyodo news agency reported, Japan's Foreign Ministry summoned Russian Ambassador to Tokyo Nikolay Nozdrev to discuss Russian President Vladimir Putin's trip to Iturup.
