MOSCOW, August 13. /TASS/. Russia will be able to promptly arrange a meeting with US presidential envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner once their plans are known, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told reporters.

He noted that Moscow is unaware of any proposals from Vladimir Zelensky on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.

According to the senior diplomat, the UN is in a state of protracted crisis, and Russia is monitoring all candidates for the organization's Secretary General position.

Prospects for US envoys’ visit

The issue of a visit by Witkoff and Kushner "remains on the radar": "Public speculation on this matter surfaces periodically."

Russia will be able to quickly arrange a meeting with the US envoys once their plans become known: "We will certainly be able to promptly arrange their reception once their actual plans become clearer."

Zelensky’s proposals

Moscow is unaware of any proposals from Zelensky on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict: "No."

The US has not conveyed Zelensky’s proposals for ending the conflict to Russia through diplomatic channels: "No."

UN crisis, election of new chief

The UN is in a protracted crisis: "The UN is in a certain state of crisis. This crisis is protracted, and the current leadership of the UN, specifically its Secretary General, fully understands the essence of the complaints that the Russian side has raised against him."

Russia is monitoring all candidates for the position of UN chief: "Of course, offering incisive assessments is a quality that commands respect. We are listening to all the candidates' signals about what they intend to do if they are elected. However, words, promises, and statements alone are not enough. Specific actions are needed."

The next Secretary General must heed the demands of the Russian side, "if he does not want the UN to fade away."

Cuba

US aggression against Cuba and the West’s attempts to "defeat" Russia by military means are of the same nature: "The aggression unleashed against Cuba and the attempts to undermine our country's unity and defeat it by military means using the regime in Kiev as a battering ram are events of the same nature. This is precisely how they should be viewed."

The introduction of new US sanctions against Cuba is a "manifestation of US impotence"; they will not succeed in breaking the will of the Cuban people.
