The partnership between Russia and China is neither bloc-based nor confrontational in nature, and is not directed against third countries, Russian and Chinese ambassadors to Japan, Nikolay Nozdrev and Wu Jianghao, said in a joint article published by their respective diplomatic missions in Tokyo.

"It is fundamentally important that the partnership between Russia and China is neither bloc-based nor confrontational in nature, and is not directed against third countries," they noted. This approach "fundamentally distinguishes Russian-Chinese cooperation from the logic of Cold War-era military-political alliances, whose members still persist in attempts to unilaterally manage global affairs, impose their interests on the entire world, and limit the sovereign development opportunities of other countries in a hegemonic and neocolonial spirit," the diplomats noted, adding that "such efforts will not succeed."

"The system of international relations in the 21st century is undergoing a profound transformation, evolving toward a long-term state of polycentricity," they said. "Russia and China advocate for a fair and orderly multipolar world and actively contribute to shaping a more just and equitable global governance system relying on a balance of interests of all participants," the diplomatic representatives of the two countries concluded.
