GORKY, August 12. /TASS/. The West has always sought to "cancel" Russia, but more recently this has become clear to even the biggest doubters, said Dmitry Medvedev, chairman of the United Russia party, at a meeting with the expert council on the creation of a popular program.

"The desire to cancel Russia, to completely destroy all our citizens, our historical memory - we used to utter these words without appreciating their true meaning. We only knew that they did indeed want that," he said.

"But as soon as the special military operation began, it came out in an absolutely cynical, undisguised form, I would even say, monstrous, even perverted form."
