MOSCOW, August 10. /TASS/. Russia’s financial watchdog Rosfinmonitoring has discovered that the Yabloko party received foreign funding, a Central Election Commission official said, a TASS correspondent reports from the courtroom of the Supreme Court, where a petition from the Rodina party is being considered to remove Yabloko's candidates from the federal State Duma elections.

"Having received a copy of the claim, the CEC studied the issue and sent a request to the financial monitoring authorities. On August 7, the CEC received a response: there is information that among the people of the federal list of Yabloko and among its counterparties there are individuals who received funds from foreign sources," a CEC representative told the court.

In addition, the Rodina party submitted documents from Rosfinmonitoring to the court regarding foreign funding of Yabloko. This is a document marked "for official use only," so it will not be made public; Yabloko will be provided with it under a non-disclosure agreement.

Earlier, Rodina Chairman, State Duma deputy Alexey Zhuravlev told TASS that he had filed a petition with the Supreme Court to remove Yabloko from the State Duma elections.

Rodina earlier said that it had found out that Yabloko exceeded the limits of election campaign financing established by law, found violations during election campaigning, including those related to the use of copyrights, as well as circumstances that the plaintiff supports LGBT-related extremist activities.

If the claim is granted, the registration of the federal list of Yabloko will be revoked, and the party will not be able to participate in the State Duma elections in the federal electoral district. The decision will not affect the party’s candidates registered in single·member districts.
