MOSCOW, August 7. /TASS/. Rodina party Chairman and State Duma Deputy Alexey Zhuravlev told TASS that he has petitioned the Russian Supreme Court to remove the Yabloko party from the State Duma elections.

The court later confirmed to TASS that it had received the application.

Supreme Court petition

- Rodina party Chairman and State Duma Deputy Alexey Zhuravlev told TASS that he had filed a motion with the Russian Supreme Court seeking to remove the Yabloko party from the State Duma elections.

- The Supreme Court received the application seeking to annul the registration of Yabloko’s federal list of candidates for State Duma seats, the court told TASS.

- Zhuravlev told TASS that Rodina’s petition against Yabloko was linked to alleged financial violations.

- He said that investigators had uncovered "a great many legal violations," primarily related to funding.

- Zhuravlev noted that, in addition to Yabloko’s funding going through banned social media platforms, this activity required hundreds of millions of rubles that did not pass through the party’s bank account.

- He also stressed that he did not link the petition to the Central Election Commission’s actions.

- According to Zhuravlev, the commission registered the list in accordance with the law because Yabloko remedied the violations it had identified.

Allegations of foreign funding

- Zhuravlev previously told TASS that he believed Yabloko’s campaign received funding from foreign sources.

- The politician said he was convinced that Mikhail Khodorkovsky, whom Russia has designated a foreign agent and included on its list of individuals involved in extremist activity or terrorism, and his Western backers were involved in financing the party.

Allegations of discrediting elections

- Zhuravlev said that Yabloko was initially focused on discrediting the 2026 elections and the country as a whole.

- He recalled that a number of parties had signed an agreement on cooperation in election monitoring at the Russian Civic Chamber the previous day, but Yabloko was not one of them.

Yabloko’s special military op stance

- Yabloko should not be allowed to use the State Duma election campaign to promote its anti-Russian ideas, A Just Russia party Chairman Sergey Mironov told TASS.

- He said that Yabloko representatives had repeatedly shown themselves to be traitors to the Motherland.

- Mironov recalled that, in an official statement on the day the special military operation began in 2022, they called it a "grave crime."

- The party has not changed its position despite numerous crimes committed by the Ukrainian Nazi regime, the lawmaker added.

- He called on the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Justice Ministry to "take a close look" at Yabloko and its leaders and assess their actions from a legal point of view.

- Yabloko’s proposal to make peace with the Kiev regime constitutes a betrayal of Russia, Liberal Democratic Party leader and State Duma International Affairs Committee Chairman Leonid Slutsky said.

- He described it as an attempt to repeat the Brest-Litovsk Treaty.

- Slutsky recalled that the country had lost not only territory but also "millions of Russian people" as a result of the treaty.

- According to him, Yabloko wants to repeat this scenario.
