ST. PETERSBURG, August 7. /TASS/. Western attempts to undermine relations between Russia and Kazakhstan are doomed to failure, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told TASS on the sidelines of the 3rd Kazakhstan-Russia Media Forum.

"From the very beginning, I have characterized our relations with Kazakhstan - including during my speech at the forum - as a comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance. These relations are very strong and are steadily developing on the basis of agreements reached by our leaders, Vladimir Putin and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev," the senior diplomat noted. "This is a whole set of agreements formalized following the Kazakh president's state visit to Russia last November and the reciprocal presidential visits in May of this year. Declarations were adopted to elevate our relations to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership and to establish seven pillars of trust and partnership between Russia and Kazakhstan," Galuzin noted.

According to him, "based on these documents, a multifaceted set of relations is developing between the two countries. These relations are solid, and attempts by Westerners to undermine them, either directly or indirectly, are doomed to fail, which, in fact, is exactly what is happening."

The first Kazakhstan-Russia Media Forum was held at TASS’ Moscow headquarters in November 2024. The second meeting of this kind took place last year in Almaty. The third forum, timed to coincide with the 35th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence, was held in St. Petersburg.
