BARS-LPR unit to recruit fighters with drone combat experience — authorities
According to Chairman of the LPR Government Alexey Samoilov, the unit is being formed due to the increased use of drones by the Ukrainian armed forces
LUGANSK, July 28. /TASS/. Fighters with combat experience, including those skilled in operating counter-drone equipment, will be recruited to the BARS-LPR special operations unit that is being formed in the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR), Chairman of the LPR Government Alexey Samoilov told TASS.
"We’re trying to enlist in the unit the guys who have combat experience in the use of the appropriate counter-drone equipment," he said.
According to him, the unit is being formed due to the increased use of drones by the Ukrainian armed forces and in accordance with instructions given to the heads of Russian regions.
The unit’s main task is to protect critical infrastructure and residents of the LPR from drone attacks. The area of responsibility covers the entire territory of the republic, including all municipal and urban districts. The unit's activities will be under the LPR head’s personal supervision.
