Ombudswoman appeals to UN over new Ukrainian attacks on civilians in Russia

Yana Lantratova called for a response to new "barbaric attacks" by Ukrainian forces on civilians in the Lugansk People’s Republic

MOSCOW, July 4. /TASS/. Russian Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova said she has sent appeals to the United Nations and called for a response to new "barbaric attacks" by Ukrainian forces on civilians in the Lugansk People’s Republic, as well as in the Zaporozhye, Bryansk, and Kursk regions.

"I have sent appeals to Mr. [UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker] Turk and the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General Vanessa Frazier, requesting an immediate response to new barbaric attacks on civilians and an international legal assessment of the events," she wrote on Max, noting that the cases include recent attacks on a Belarusian passenger bus in the Bryansk Region and a city bus in Lisichansk of the Lugansk People's Republic, as well as a strike on a market in Tokmak in the Zaporozhye Region and the explosion of a car in Rylsk in the Kursk Region on July 3.
