MOSCOW, July 4. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has congratulated the American people on the 250th anniversary of US independence, according to a message published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"This momentous anniversary - the 250th anniversary of United States independence - is being celebrated at a highly consequential juncture for the world order. Despite the strenuous resistance of Western countries, a more just and balanced multipolar model of international development is asserting itself to replace the era of their global hegemony," he said.

"I extend my congratulations to the American people. I wish them peace and prosperity, in the hope that the precepts of the United States Declaration of Independence enshrining the right of every individual to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness may be fully realized," the foreign minister noted.

By building a genuine dialogue, Moscow and Washington are capable of achieving meaningful results and finding effective solutions to the most complex global and regional problems, Lavrov continued. "I am confident that, by fostering candid dialogue grounded in equality, mutual respect, and non-interference in internal affairs, and by prioritizing the mutual consideration of fundamental national interests, Russia and the United States are well placed to achieve substantive results and jointly identify effective solutions to the most complex global and regional challenges," he concluded.
