Trump has successes to show before elections in November — senator
Konstantin Kosachev pointed out that the unfavorable external environment for the White House would not necessarily be the only factor that would determine the outcome of the election campaign
MOSCOW, July 4. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump is making progress on the domestic track, which he can present to the voters in the midterm congressional elections in November, including the transfer of several production facilities to the United States and higher energy exports, Russian Federation Council Vice Speaker Konstantin Kosachev said in an interview with TASS.
He said that the unfavorable external environment for the White House would not necessarily be the only factor that would determine the outcome of the election campaign.
"The Trump administration has made some progress on the domestic track: the transfer of a fairly large number of industries from abroad to the United States of America, creating new jobs, and the new leadership of the United States of America in energy supplies. We understand what super profits Americans are currently making in Europe, replacing Russian gas and supplying much more expensive liquefied American gas," the parliamentarian believes.
There is some other stuff with which Trump "absolutely does not lose," Kosachev continued.
"I think he has some obvious successes in store for American voters. Let's assume that gasoline prices will go down sometime closer to November, food prices will decrease, and some new health insurance will be guaranteed at more favorable prices and conditions. All this will happen during the remaining months of July, August, September and October. And I don't rule out that there will be some unexpected plots," he said.
Midterm elections to the US Congress will be held on November 3. The entire composition of the House of Representatives - 435 people, as well as a third of the senators - 33 people are re-elected. Currently, both chambers are controlled by Republicans.
