The Middle East conflict has demonstrated that Western military bases provide no protection to the country they are deployed in, only drawing strikes on it, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum (SPILF).
"Escalation of tensions in the Middle East has demonstrated that military bases do not help at all. On the contrary, they become targets of military counterattacks," he said.
The Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman added that "in case of danger, personnel of such military bases cares only about hasty evacuation with all their belongings."
