SAINT-PETERSBURG, June 24. /TASS/. Legal mechanisms must be put in place to address the deployment of Western military bases in foreign territories because it provokes tension, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev told the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum (SPILF).
He noted that these deployments have become a significant factor undermining the collective security system and eroding the sovereignty of states.
"They are, frankly, provoking international and regional tensions," Medvedev said.
"This is why it is necessary to develop specific legal mechanisms aimed at dismantling the existing system of foreign military presence that the West is imposing on other countries.".
