Deployment of Oreshnik missiles in Belarus strengthens deterrent effect — Shoigu
The Russian Security Council secretary noted that this effect should be regularly reinforced
MOSCOW, May 26. /TASS/. The deployment of Russian non-strategic nuclear weapons and Oreshnik missiles in Belarus has significantly strengthened the deterrent effect against the West, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu said.
"The deployment of Russian non-strategic nuclear weapons and the Oreshnik missile system in Belarus by the decision of our presidents Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko has significantly strengthened the deterrent effect, according to military experts," he said at a meeting with Belarusian Security Council State Secretary Alexander Volfovich.
Shoigu noted that this effect should be regularly reinforced. He recalled that on May 19-21, the Russian and Belarusian armed forces jointly conducted practical training for the use of such systems.
Overall, Russian-Belarusian military and military-technical cooperation, thanks in part to the West's collective policy, is developing in all areas, Shoigu said.
