Russian President Vladimir Putin and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain emphasized in a telephone conversation the need to resolve the situation around Iran as quickly as possible, taking into account the interests of all countries in the region, the Kremlin’s press service reported.

"While discussing the situation in the Middle East, the two leaders emphasized the need to quickly achieve a political and diplomatic resolution to the crisis surrounding Iran, while fully respecting the interests of all states in the region," the report said.

They also confirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation between the two countries in various areas, according to the report.

"Both sides confirmed their commitment to further strengthening the cooperation between Russia and Bahrain in trade and economy, finance and investment, and cultural and humanitarian affairs," the press service said.
