Tenth Russia-China Expo kicks off in Harbin
The event is organized by Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade and Ministry of Economic Development together with the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the Heilongjiang Provincial People's Government
HARBIN, May 17. /TASS/. The Tenth Russia-China Expo has kicked off at the Harbin International Convention Exhibition and Sports Center. The event is organized by Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade and Ministry of Economic Development together with the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the Heilongjiang Provincial People's Government.
Yury Trutnev, Russian deputy prime minister and presidential plenipotentiary envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, took part in the opening ceremony, reading out Russian President Vladimir Putin’s message. According to the Russian leader, the exhibition has turned into a large-scale event that clearly demonstrates the achievements of bilateral cooperation and creates an opportunity for direct dialogue between businessmen and government officials. "The current expo fully reflects the strong momentum of comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation between Moscow and Beijing," Trutnev quoted the head of state as saying.
Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing, in turn, read out a message by Chinese President Xi Jinping. The Chinese leader noted that this year marked the 30th anniversary of strategic partnership between two counties and the 25th anniversary of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation. Zhang, on his part, emphasized that China had been Russia’s largest trading partner for 16 years and that bilateral trade had reached $227.9 billion in 2025.
The Russia-China Expo has been held annually since 2014, alternating between the two countries. This year, the large-scale exhibition covers sectors such as engineering, digital technologies, energy, the metals industry, the chemical industry, and agriculture. The exhibition will run until May 21.
