Liberation of Charivnoye in Zaporozhye area opens way for Russian army towards Orekhov
According to the defense source, Charivnoye was a major defensive line of the Ukrainian army
MOSCOW, May 15. /TASS/. The liberation of the Charivnoye community in the Zaporozhye Region opens the way for Russia’s Battlegroup East towards Orekhov, a source in Russian defense circles told TASS.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported earlier on Friday that its Battlegroup East had liberated the settlement of Charivnoye in the Zaporozhye Region.
"As a result of constant strikes on the enemy’s logistics and the delivery of fire on its positions, and also well-coordinated operations by assault units of the Battlegroup East, the adversary has suffered heavy losses and thus opens the way for us towards the settlement of Orekhov," the defense source said.
Charivnoye liberated by Russian troops was a major defensive line of the Ukrainian army, he added.
"A well-fortified area of defense with Charivnoye at its center covered the southern outskirts of the settlement of Komsomolskoye and the road leading to it from Omelnik. The area itself is a ramified network of trenches with underground shelters, which the Ukrainian army had been equipping for almost three years, gradually building up and fortifying that territory," the defense source said.
