Moscow confirms preparations for Indian prime minister’s return visit this year

NEW DELHI, May 15. /TASS/. Moscow is preparing to host Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on an official visit later this year, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

"[Indian] Prime Minister Narendra Modi confirmed yesterday that he will pay a return visit to Russia this year. We will prepare for this summit as well," the Russian foreign minister said following the BRICS ministers meeting in New Delhi.

Russian President Vladimir Putin paid a state visit to India in December. Moscow and New Delhi maintain regular exchanges of high-level visits.

The top diplomat said Russia and India cooperate in so many areas that "one day would not be enough" to list them all. "We want our especially privileged strategic partnership to continue developing effectively across all areas. During the talks held as part of this visit, we saw the same commitment from the Indian side," Lavrov added.
