Too early to speak about Putin possibly attending G20 events in person — Kremlin aide
Yury Ushakov still highlighted that Russia remains a member of the G20 and takes part in all events of the forum
MOSCOW, May 7. /TASS/. It’s premature to talk about the possibility of Russian President Vladimir Putin attending December’s G20 events in Miami in person, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said in response to a TASS question.
"Right now it is simply too early to talk about it," Ushakov said. "There are still so many events ahead of December that I know of and that we are carefully planning, including ones that will take place very soon. I believe it is even premature to speak about many of the events scheduled for May, June and July, because if we announced them now, they would not be coordinated with our partners," he added.
The Kremlin official highlighted, however, that Russia remains a member of the G20 and takes part in all events of the forum. "We'll see how the situation develops," he said.
Ushakov added that preparations for many other events are underway, noting that a major presidential visit to China is "just around the corner."
