Kiev’s attack on TASS journalist should be assessed by international bodies — MFA

Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the international reaction would be a vivid indicator of the seriousness of the approaches of the relevant structures to ensuring the safety of journalists

MOSCOW, May 7. /TASS/. The terrorist attack by Kiev on TASS photojournalist Alexander Polegenko must be assessed by relevant international bodies, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

"The terrorist methods of the Kiev regime must receive an appropriate public assessment from relevant international structures, primarily the OSCE, UNESCO, and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. Their reaction, or rather the lack thereof, amid numerous recent celebrations of World Press Freedom Day on May 3, will be a vivid indicator of the seriousness of the approaches of such institutions to ensuring the safety of journalists," the diplomat stated in a comment.

She emphasized that "every new crime by the Ukrainian Bandera followers, committed against the backdrop of silence or vague phrases from these multilateral structures, becomes another shameful stain on their reputation."
