AI takes center stage in Iranian conflict — Russian parliamentarian
According to Alexey Pushkov, the first thousand targets hit in Iran were designated by artificial intelligence through a special system
MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies have become the "main player" in the US-Israeli military campaign against Iran, not just an ancillary one, said Alexey Pushkov, Chairman of the Information Policy Committee of the Russian Federation Council upper house of parliament.
"Artificial intelligence is already beginning to be actively utilized in the military sphere, and the war in Iran has become the first major war where artificial intelligence and autonomous systems were not auxiliary means, but the main actors," the lawmaker said at the committee’s roundtable discussion on the issue Information and Artificial Intelligence: Interconnection, Challenges, and Threats.
According to Pushkov, the first thousand targets hit in Iran were designated by artificial intelligence through a special system. "That is, perhaps in the future, the Iran campaign will be called the first war in which artificial intelligence played a significant role," he added.
