Putin invites Egyptian president to visit Russia

The Russian leader also expressed hope that Egypt would be represented by a high-level delegation on the Russia-Africa Summit in October

MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin invited Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to visit Russia and also expressed hope that at the Russia-Africa Summit in October Egypt would be represented by a high-level delegation.

"I would like to note that the next Russia-Africa Summit is scheduled for October this year, and we hope that Egypt will be represented by a good, high-level delegation. If the Egyptian president finds time, of course, we will be glad to welcome him to Moscow," Putin said at a meeting with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty in the Kremlin.

The Russian leader recalled a recent conversation with the Egyptian president when they discussed both bilateral relations and current events in the region. "It is very important for us to maintain regular contacts. I know that you have a busy agenda with your Russian counterpart, Mr. [Sergey] Lavrov and other high officials of Russia, I believe it will benefit our bilateral relations," the president noted.
