United States never relinquished sanctions policy against Russia — deputy foreign minister

Mikhail Galuzin emphasized that the United States continues trying to pressure Russia’s allies and partners into adhering to these sanctions

TERMEZ /Republic of Uzbekistan/, April 1. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump’s administration has not relinquished its sanctions policy against Russia, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told TASS in an interview.

"I do not recall any sanctions against Russia being lifted. That is not the case at all, the sanctions pressure continues: not only do the measures introduced by [Joe] Biden’s administration remain in force, new ones are being introduced, entirely on behalf of [Donald] Trump’s administration," the senior diplomat said on the sidelines of a Russia-Uzbekistan conference organized by the Valdai Discussion Club and the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the Uzbek president.

Galuzin also emphasized that the United States continues trying to pressure Russia’s allies and partners into adhering to these sanctions.
