BELGOROD, February 26. /TASS/. Mobile air defense teams of the 22nd Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment of the 11th Army Corps of Russia’s Battlegroup North have destroyed more than 30 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) of the Ukrainian armed forces in a month in the Belgorod Region border area, the battlegroup told TASS.

"In the Belgorod Region border area, mobile air defense teams of the 22nd Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment of the 11th Army Corps of Battlegroup North have destroyed more than 30 enemy drones [in a month], and service members are on duty around the clock. The mobile air defense teams are dispersed along the main routes of Ukrainian attack UAVs. Each crew is armed with vehicle-mounted turrets, man-portable air defense systems, and small arms. Using thermal weapon sights, soldiers can accurately engage targets," the battlegroup reported.

It said that established communications with radar operators allows them to provide timely warning of Ukrainian UAVs flying past the mobile air defense teams. "If a target appears in a new area, the crew changes its firing position, acting ahead of the enemy, and suppresses the aerial target with dense small arms fire," the group added.
