MOSCOW, January 30. /TASS/. The Kiev regime ignored the moratorium on attacks on energy facilities initiated by Russia in March-April 2025 and attempted to attack Russian nuclear power plants, which could have resulted in a nuclear disaster, the Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Rodion Miroshnik told a news conference.

"Since the beginning of last year, the Ukrainian side has launched targeted attacks against Russian energy facilities and fuel and energy complexes. In March-April 2025, the Ukrainian side effectively ignored the 'energy ceasefire' initiated by Russia," he said. "During the ceasefire, while Russia refrained from attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities, the Ukrainian side demonstratively violated the moratorium on strikes 144 times, including by striking the Sudzha measuring station on the international gas pipeline."

"Kiev also persistently escalated its attacks on civilian energy facilities throughout the year," Miroshnik noted. "Over the year, Ukrainian militants repeatedly attempted to attack four Russian nuclear power plants: Zaporozhye, Kursk, Smolensk, and Novovoronezh."

Any of these strikes could have resulted in a nuclear disaster.

"However, we have not heard any serious reproaches from the Western powers that support Kiev. And we are unlikely to hear any in the near future," Miroshnik stated.
