MOSCOW, January 2. /TASS/. Special presidential envoy for investment and economic cooperation and chief executive of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev called EU residents "poor Europeans" after the promise made by President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

"Poor Europeans — as Ursula [von der Leyen] promises to work even harder on Western civilization’s suicide in 2026," Dmitriev wrote on his page on the X.
