MOSCOW, January 2. /TASS/. Russian air defenses shot down in total 34 drones targeting Moscow during the New Year night and in the evening on January 1.

According to reports on the Telegram channel of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, nine drones were shot down when approaching Moscow at night from December 31 to January 1, 2026. In the evening of the first day of the new year, 25 more drones targeting Moscow were destroyed, the mayor wrote.
