Putin says Russia-Tajikistan talks productive

The Russian president pointed out that he and Emomali Rahmon had discussed in detail a wide range of issues of cooperation in politics, security, economy, trade, social, cultural and humanitarian fields

DUSHANBE, October 9. /TASS/. The Russian-Tajik talks were held in a constructive manner and were meaningful and effective, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a press statement following the discussions.

"I agree with Emomali Sharipovich, our negotiations really took place in a businesslike and constructive manner, were meaningful and fruitful. This fully corresponds to the friendly and allied nature of our relations," Putin said, referring to Tajik President Emomali Rahmon.

He said that he and Rahmon had discussed in detail a wide range of issues of cooperation in politics, security, economy, trade, social, cultural and humanitarian fields. They also exchanged views on a number of pressing issues on the international and regional agenda, Putin added.

"The joint statement adopted by Emomali Sharipovich and me sets ambitious new goals for a further deepening Russian-Tajik allied cooperation," the Russian head of state said. He also stressed that the signed interstate, intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents will contribute to enhancing cooperation.
