MOSCOW, October 9. /TASS/. Air defenses shot down 19 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions last night, the Defense Ministry reported.
Falling drone debris damaged a boiler house building in Russia’s southern Volgograd Region and caused fires at energy facilities. Two private houses were damaged in the Rostov Region.
TASS has gathered the key information about the consequences of the attacks.
Scale of attacks
- On-duty air defenses intercepted and destroyed 19 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles over Russian regions last night, the Defense Ministry said.
- According to the ministry, nine drones were downed over the Volgograd Region, three over the Bryansk Region, another three over the Kursk Region, one over the Belgorod Region, one over the Voronezh Region, one more over the Oryol Region and another one over the Saratov Region.
Consequences
- Falling drone debris damaged a boiler house building and caused fires at energy facilities in the Volgograd Region, Governor Andrey Bocharov said.
- Fire brigades are working to extinguish the blazes.
- Falling drone debris also damaged two private houses in the Rostov Region; there were no casualties, Governor Yury Slyusar said.
Airport operation
- Temporary restrictions on inbound and outbound flights were introduced at the airports in Saratov, Volgograd, and Samara.
- The restrictions have now been lifted.
