VLADIVOSTOK, September 5. /TASS/. Talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US leader Donald Trump are proceeding with difficulties, as both leaders are firmly defending their national interests, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told TASS at the Eastern Economic Forum.

"These are difficult conversations. Each side is standing up for its own interests. But President Putin values this and is grateful to Trump for such an approach," Peskov said.
