Ukraine’s army attacks Russia’s Belgorod Region with 100 UAVs in past day — governor
Vyacheslav Gladkov said that a man was taken in severe condition to city hospital in the wake of the attacks
BELGOROD, August 20. /TASS/. The Ukrainian military attacked populated areas of Russia’s borderline Belgorod Region with about 100 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and 33 munitions in the past 24 hours, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on his Telegram channel on Wednesday.
"In the Belgorodsky district, the settlements of Dubovoye, Malinovka and Oktyabrsky, the villages of Nechayevka, Otradnoye, Tolokonnoye, Chaiki, Cheremoshnoye and Yasniye Zori came under attacks by 10 drones, of which 4 were shot down <…> A private house [was damaged] each in the villages of Nechayevka and Chaiki," the governor said.
During the last 24-hour period, the Ukrainian army attacked the Borisovsky district with 10 UAVs, the Valuisky district with 16 drones and the Graivoronsky district with 6 munitions and 12 UAVs, he specified.
"In the village of Mokraya Orlovka, a civilian was wounded after a drone dropped an explosive on agricultural machinery. The man was taken in severe condition to city hospital No. 2 in Belgorod," he said.
Air defenses shot down 5 Ukrainian fixed-wing UAVs over the Ivnyansky district. The Ukrainian military fired 23 munitions and launched 21 UAVs against the Krasnoyaruzhsky district. The Shebekinsky district came under a bombardment by 4 munitions and attacks by 22 drones, the governor said.
"In the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka, a drone attack on the Church of the Protection of the Holy Virgin wounded a woman. The injured person continues medical treatment in the regional clinical hospital," he said, adding that the church had sustained damage.
