ANCHORAGE /Alaska/, August 16. /TASS/. Choosing Alaska as a venue for the Russian-US summit is a logical step, because the two countries are neighbors, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a joint news conference with US President Donald Trump.

"I would like to once again thank my US counterpart for his invitation to visit Alaska. It is quite logical to meet here, because our countries, even though separated by the ocean, are close neighbors," the Russian leader said.
