Starting point for discussion: Russia abducted no Ukrainian children — Foreign Ministry
Many of these children may not have any papers at all or may be victims of people who falsify documents, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said
NIZHNY NOVGOROD, June 6. /TASS/. Russia does not abduct Ukrainian children, and this should be the starting point in any discussion on this issue, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.
"There are no Ukrainian children abducted by Russia, as they put it. You just need to know this and that should be the starting point when discussing this problem," the diplomat told a session of the Global Digital Forum.
"There are children of different nationalities, different citizenships. Moreover, many of them may not have any papers at all or may be victims of people who falsify documents, and they are wanted by relatives, parents, and other next of kin. There are certain procedures in this work. Our Commissioner for Children's Rights, Mariya Lvova-Belova, works around the clock."
Earlier, head of the Russian delegation, Presidential Aide Vladimir Medinsky showed reporters a list of 339 children's names handed over by the Ukrainian delegation during the second round of negotiations in Istanbul. Later, it went to the office of Maria Lvova-Belova.
