Russian strikes on logistics, not US, behind halt in Ukrainian ATACMS attacks — politician

MELITOPOL, March 13. /TASS/. The lack of results in Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory using American ATACMS missiles is not due to the goodwill of the United States, but rather the effectiveness of air defense systems and Russian attacks on the enemy’s logistics, Vladimir Rogov, chairman of a Russian Civic Chamber committee, told TASS.

"We cannot say that this is the goodwill of the United States. The absence of ATACMS missiles hitting targets in Russia is due to the excellent performance of our air defenses and Russian strikes on the delivery points of these missiles. In early March, Russian forces targeted ships in the port of Odessa carrying a shipment of ATACMS missiles and two HIMARS launchers," Rogov said.

Earlier on Thursday, the Associated Press (AP) reported, citing sources in the administration of US President Donald Trump, that Ukraine has had no ATACMS tactical missiles since late January, having exhausted its stockpile.

According to Rogov, the AP article raises doubts, as strikes using these missiles on Russian territory occurred much later than the deadline specified by the news agency. "This publication raises many questions. I would consider it a special information operation, as is often the case in the Western press, intended to mislead us. The claim that they ran out of them [missiles] in January is false. On March 4, there was an attempt to launch an ATACMS strike on the Bryansk Region. The governor mentioned it, and fragments of this very American missile were found," the politician stated.
