Putin, Tokayev note dynamic development of interstate ties between Russia, Kazakhstan

ASTANA, March 6. /TASS/. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a telephone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, and the two leaders acknowledged the remarkable development of interstate relations between the two countries, the press service of the Kazakh president reported.

"The heads of state noted the dynamic development of interstate relations between Kazakhstan and Russia in the spirit of friendship, good neighborliness, and alliance," the statement said.

The presidents also "discussed trade and economic cooperation, emphasizing the successful implementation of agreements previously reached at the highest level."

Earlier, Tokayev and Putin had a telephone conversation on December 28, 2024. They stressed the importance of ensuring a comprehensive and transparent investigation into the crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane near Aktau. The two leaders discussed the work being carried out by the parties to clarify the circumstances of the plane crash.
