Kremlin assumes Europe may ramp up military aid to Kiev

"We see that some European countries are stating their commitment to continuing comprehensive assistance," Dmitry Peskov said

MOSCOW, March 4. /TASS/. Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that while the United States was the primary sponsor of military aid to Ukraine under the previous administration, it cannot be ruled out that Europe may now increase its supplies.

He made this statement in response to a question about whether the Kremlin still believes that, without Western aid to Kiev, the fighting could end within a week.

"We see that some European countries are stating their commitment to continuing comprehensive assistance. They will, in some way, attempt to compensate for the reduced supply of ammunition and other provisions. However, the largest volume of aid so far has come from the United States and through the US. So, we will see," the Kremlin spokesman said.

Earlier, Reuters quoted a White House official stating that US President Donald Trump had ordered a suspension of all military aid deliveries to Kiev. Bloomberg, citing sources, reported that the pause would remain in effect until the US leader determines that Ukraine's leadership has demonstrated a commitment to a peaceful resolution of the conflict with Russia.

A Pentagon spokesperson confirmed to TASS that the US Armed Forces have halted military aid shipments to Ukraine. According to him, this includes all US military equipment not currently in Ukraine, such as weapons in transit via planes and ships, as well as those awaiting further shipment in Poland's transit zones.
