FACTBOX: Overnight UAV attacks on Russian regions

Air defense forces on duty intercepted and destroyed 18 Ukrainian UAVs over Russian regions last night, the Defense Ministry said

MOSCOW, March 4. /TASS/. Russia's Defense Ministry reported that air defense systems successfully downed 18 Ukrainian drones overnight across multiple regions.

The UAV strike caused a fire at an oil pipeline in the Chertkovsky district of the Rostov Region, as well as a warehouse fire at an industrial facility in the village of Sohranovka. Additionally, drones targeted an industrial enterprise in Syzran.

TASS has compiled key details on the aftermath of the attack.

Attack scale

- Air defense forces on duty intercepted and destroyed 18 Ukrainian UAVs over Russian regions last night, the Defense Ministry said.

- According to it, ten UAVs were shot down over the Rostov Region, three over the Voronezh Region, two over the Samara Region, as well as one each over the Kursk, Belgorod and Astrakhan Regions.

The aftermath

- Yury Slyusar, the acting governor of the Rostov Region, reported that a massive UAV attack in the Chertkovsky district caused a fire at an oil pipeline. All personnel were evacuated, and preliminary reports indicate no casualties.

- Additionally, UAV debris sparked a fire at a warehouse at an industrial facility in the village of Sohranovka. Employees were evacuated to a shelter, and no injuries were reported.

- Emergency response units promptly extinguished the fires.

- According to Slyusar, emergency services on duty also received a call from residents of the Verkhnedonsky district who discovered the wreckage of a fixed-wing drone that had crashed into a field near the Pavlovsky farm. Specialists will examine and neutralize it throughout the day.

- Drones struck an industrial enterprise in Syzran, causing no casualties, Samara Region Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev reported.
